Door County is blessed with an abundance of natural resources. 

From our lakeshore to the wetlands, our orchards to the meadows, the open spaces and our rural roads - there is something about the beauty of this place that keeps us here or calls us back each year.

The Green Fund provides a specialized avenue for people to contribute who are concerned about the protection of Door County's environment and, therefore, its economy.

Contributions from any business, foundation, or individual are welcome and deeply appreciated.

Starting Anew!

The Green Fund, Inc. and the Community Foundation are pleased to announce that they have joined forces and launched the all new Green Fund, a fund of the Door County Community Foundation, Inc.

Our vision hasn’t changed – and neither has our logo.  Many of the members of the Board of Directors of Green Fund, Inc. now serve on the new Green Fund’s Board of Advisors.

By merging our activities with those of the Community Foundation’s Environmental Fund, we’ll be able to minimize our shared administrative expenses and maximize the amount we have to grant out to environmental projects right here in Door County.

Local businesses recognize the obvious connection between preservation of the natural environment and the tourist-driven economy that sustains them.  Hence, they have traditionally been the largest contributors to the Green Fund both in membership numbers and dollar amounts. 

But our real strength comes from pooling our resources with the contributions of folks like you.  Woring together we’ll be able to sustain this very special quality of life we enjoy in Door County.  Through the Green Fund, we will collectively invest in efforts that provide environmental education, fund land preservation, eradicate invasive species, and support other types of “green” programs.

Of course, none of this is possible without the continued friendship and support of good people like you.
